Industrial Applications

Vacuum technology at its best

Before the development of the transistor in 1947, the Vacuum Tube was found in almost every electronic appliance produced. Today, it is mainly used in high power radio frequency applications, like that of a big radio station, guitar amplifiers, professional audio recording studios and high end audio equipment as it produces a sound quality that cannot be achieved with transistors.

Containers similar to that of a vacuum flask are used as insulated shipping containers for the shipping of temperature-sensitive items such as food and pharmaceuticals.

This technology has helped accelerated globalization directly, since freight can be transported over longer distances while preserving the quality of its contents.

In the field of Cryogenics, which is the science of low temperatures and the behaviour of substances in that state, double wall vacuums are used on a large scale to keep reactive gases such as nitrogen in its liquid form by storing them at low temperatures.

Many other applications and uses, such as in the field of cryotherapy, has been derived from this technology.
